Kittle Continues Expanding Affordable Housing Stock in Columbus, Ohio

April 2025 – Indianapolis, IN – The U.S. currently has a shortage of over 7 million rental homes that are both affordable and available to renters with low incomes, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition. Expanding access to affordable housing is something we focus on every day at Kittle Property Group. Our brand-new Meadow Creek development will bring 252 affordable apartment homes to those in the Columbus area. The community will consist of 1, 2, 3, and 4-bedroom units, all with rents at 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Meadow Creek will feature three 3-story breezeway buildings. This pet-friendly community will feature a variety of amenities such as a community room, fitness center, library, pool, picnic and grilling area, playground, a dog park and more.
The Columbus Region is projected to grow by 35% in the next 25 years, reaching 3 million people by 2050. This level of growth brings housing, and affordable housing specifically, into the spotlight.
“Being able to afford your rent is critical to achieving financial stability,” said Erika Scott, Vice President – Development. “The residents of Meadow Creek will be able to focus their efforts on strengthening the other critical areas of their life- family, education, and health.”
Financing for this community includes tax credits issued by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency and tax-exempt bonds from the Columbus-Franklin County Finance Authority. Additional financing for the project includes a construction and bridge loan from PNC Bank, a permanent loan from Fannie Mae, and tax credit equity also from PNC.
